Is it worth reading?

I just saw a mecha video game trailer. I realized that there tends to be 2 types of mecha in media. The Japanese style, sleek, fast, nimble. The western style. Bulky, armored, industrial/military style. I then realized aesthetics play a big part for me. I love the western style mechs, but I don't like the Japanese style. I wouldn't read a book with the Japanese style. But I would read a book with a western style in an instant. Do any sci-fi aesthetics have that effect on you? Ships, weapons, etc

This was a 5 star book for me. It's the second book in a series starting with the Sword Catcher. I loved Clare's dialog and character development. The premise is a boy that was abducted to become a look alike to the prince to protect him from threats. They become best friends while growing up. Would recommend if you like Royal life d'éviction, ruthless political conspiracies, light magic, bromance and romance subplots without spice. If you have read this or Sword Catcher please post thoughts.

I might read this, but I’m not sure. Is it a good book, or should I just ignore it? I’ve seen good reviews, but I’ve also seen people say it’s a bit bland and was just wondering what you guys think about it.

Who are some booktubers that primarily focus on sci-fi books? I’m subscribed to a lot of fantasy heavy booktubers so I would like to find some that are sci-fi heavy.

Haven't read this yet, but it sounds very similar to a film titled The Stairs (2021).

Sorry if this is a bit of a rant. I'm about 200 pages into Iron Flame and am so bored with it. Most of the challenges and conflicts the cadets have to go through seem so pointless. Also, I think I'm not a huge fan of the world and Violet is low key annoying, I wish she didn't care so much about the whole keeping secrets thing because THIS IS WAR AND THERES GOING TO BE SECRETS. People who loved this series: give me some inspo to keep reading bc I really would like to finish the series

Thoughts on LitRPG/GameLit? I'm really enjoying the genre, (subgenre?) but I have a few issues with the way some handle the RPG elements. Currently reading He Who Fights With Monsters, by Shirtaloon, (Yes, that is the author's pen-name, his parents aren't that evil, apparently) and find the item descriptions, power-up notifications, and advancement descriptions really boring and repetitive. The story, characters, dialogue, world and everything else, I absolutely love.

SPOILERS!!!!!! I just finished Crooked Kingdom, the second book of the Six of Crows series. Loved the series, definitely one of my favorites. Though I want to discuss some topics with others. How do you feel about Kaz and Inej relationship? Did Matthias death hit you? Did you enjoy the ending? How do you feel about everyone’s new place? Do you enjoy Pekka and Van new place in society? Of course you can talk about other stuff those are just the main things I had in mind.

A hypothetical scenario. Humans are not from Earth. But in every other way, we are exactly as we currently are, biologically speaking. We have recently developed interstellar travel. We have arrived at Earth with the intent of starting a brand new colony. Earth is exactly as it is now, except without humans and the things humans have created. Where would we land and set up our 1st colony? What location would allow the greatest chance of success?

What did people think of Dan Simmons Abominable? I’ve been craving a hair raising arctic horror. A lot of the horror I’ve read recently has really let me down with shying away from actually committing to the horror aspect or taking a safe route. I don’t want to be let down again, especially since it’s a longer book. I did enjoy his book, The Terror.

Hello well i just finished reading Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe and omg what a book. The absolute best and most beautiful book EVER!!! If you havent read it, you are seriously missing out. Young adult and mlm. Mexican queer, family, friendship, romance… awwwwwwwww i loved it so much!!!! Will be reading the second book real soon. Oh and the 10th year anniversary book edition is so beautiful, one of the most beautiful covers Evers, i actually gave that one to a friend

Has anyone heard of this book? I just got it from my library, it’s by the same author as The Spellshop, and reminds me of “Addie LaRue” and the “Inheritance of Orqidea Divina” (sorry about spelling). It’s magic realism, with small towns, mysterious curses, and cute characters.
