I just saw a mecha video game trailer. I realized that there tends to be 2 types of mecha in media. The Japanese style, sleek, fast, nimble. The western style. Bulky, armored, industrial/military style. I then realized aesthetics play a big part for me. I love the western style mechs, but I don't like the Japanese style. I wouldn't read a book with the Japanese style. But I would read a book with a western style in an instant. Do any sci-fi aesthetics have that effect on you? Ships, weapons, etc

Brandon Reed No, I can accept whatever type of world with which I'm presented as long as there is internal consistency.

Road Master Aesthetics don't matter at all? Just for a comparison, Star Trek vs Halo. You don't gravitate toward one more than the other? If you were at a bookstore and saw them side by side?
