Taylor HI can’t pinpoint why I didn’t rate it 5 stars, but I don’t really like the FMC. But the side characters in this book really shine, especially onyx. And it was interesting reading about an alchemist, and see her forge weapons. <br/><br/>I would recommend to anyone who likes kingfisher birds, tattoos, daggers/swords, and vampires. People who struggle with internal conflict, people who think they must sacrifice themselves for other safety.
