ErosThe cinematography is great, but eugh the casting. Not only is the actor playing Tony a terrible person, he’s also not that talented. And a gang of all twinks is threatening in a way, but definitely not the right way, really took me out of the story. Doesn’t live up to original, watch that instead.
ErosI like the conversational tone of the book, but unlike his first book I don’t think this one is enjoyable unless you are already a fan of Andrew Rannells. The time-skipping nature of the book is sometimes difficult to follow.
ErosWatching this version makes me really sad because most of the actors died young of aids. Watch this version and watch the 2020 version, I love both casts. This movie was considered very regressive when it came out, but I think it gets better with age now that we can look back and see how the world has improved since 1968. I love everything about it. RIP to all the actors and to Mart Crowley.
