Cristal JacoboI loved reading this book, and am once again blown away with Kristin Hannah’s way of writing. I loved how she was able to show the complexity of being in an abusive relationship, and how Leonora was able to figure out the reality of her family troubles. I also love how Kristin Hannah is able to immerse the reader into the geographical place of the setting, help the reader vividly visualize Alaska. Overall, it is a great read and I would recommend. 4.3/5 rating

Cristal JacoboI loved this book! It was such a rollercoaster that made you worried, frustrated, and excited throughout the book. I loved the storyline in the series and characters. I could definitely feel the chemistry and love that Evangeline and Jack have for one another. I appreciate how the author didn’t put any sexual senses in the book because it kept the focus on the story plot and in my opinion made their love for one another more intense. Overall, I enjoyed reading the series and I would recommend it. 4.0/5 rating

Cristal JacoboGoing into this book I didn’t think I would love it but I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed reading it. I will say it is a slow burn book and can be a little melodramatic in some points. However, it keeps you intrigued. I wouldn’t say it’s one of my favorite reads but it is a nostalgic book about a woman’s past love intertwined with her present love’s (her husband, her home, and her three daughters). One thing I personally couldn’t understand was Duke’s character as an individual, he infuriated me at the end which in turn made me upset at Lara and the choices she made regarding him. Overall, the ending did disappoint me a bit but it went along with the overall story of heartbreak and disappointments but learning how life goes on. 3.7/5 rating
