"Day 2 of Horrortober and it’s the film Henry:Potrait of a Serial Killer. I went into this film completely blind and never heard of it before. I was surprised to see Micheal Rooker looking so young. I’m just use to his character on TWD who I hated. It’s actually kinda funny how close Merle Dixon and Henry are somewhat alike. I actually enjoyed the film more than I expected. It’s kinda a disturbing film when you sit back and watch what’s really going on. I see there is a part 2 but unfortunately it’s 10 years later with completely different actors so I already know it’s dumpster fire. Anyway I did enjoy the way this film played out and I was entertained at best."

"First time watching this film after many years.
I was never a fan of horror films while growing up. And, I didn’t get around to seeing this film until I was in my late 20s.
Henry left a lasting impression on me. It was bleak, depressing and violent. And, it felt raw… real.
About six years after seeing Henry, I started watching horror on a regularly basis. And now, after having watched hundreds of horror and gore films, my curiosity about how I’d experience Henry now won out.
I just finished rewatching it, and I still felt some of what I remembered of the film, tho less intensely. Henry is still a bleak and depressing film, and its raw and (somewhat) realistic feel remains.
Budget constraints are evident, but the roles of Henry and Otis are very well performed.
Overall, Henry remains a worthy watch. It’s a film that still holds a special place for me. And, I still consider it a highlight film in the history of the genre.
(Bumped my rating down to 4 stars.)"
"Raw. Unsettling"
