The extraordinary story of disco queen Donna Summer through a rich archive of unpublished film excerpts, home video, photographs, artwork, writings, personal audio and other recordings that span the life of one of the most iconic performers ever to shake a room to its timbers. From her early career with Giorgio Moroder in Germany, to later years more focused on spirituality and family life as a shelter from troubles associated with both notoriety and intimate wounds, her story is all the more special for being told in the first person – both singular and plural.

"4⭐️ The Queen of Disco! Donna Summer was fiery, layered, headstrong and controversial, definitely her own person. I’d always heard she regretted the song Love to Love You Baby, however she never said anything to that effect in this film and was certainly a willing collaborator. I also didn’t know she was a very gifted and prolific songwriter having written many of those massive hits. This doc could have been better but it was made by her daughter, a love letter but an open and honest one with both glitter and flaws. It was fun for the music and history. I still enjoyed it!
