"I was a slow burn. You got pieces of several different plot lines that didn’t mesh well just left me confused. Mera (the human part) is very strong willed and confident but her wolf isn’t which irked me. Like when Torin & Jackson “rescued” her, at some point her wolf was happy that he was going to accept her while the human part of her was calling BS! I got bored at some points in the story. Mainly, the storyline didn’t pick up until the end. I wish the storyline was more cohesive if that makes since. It’s book 1 so I hope the flow is better.

Mera spends her whole time at the library help shadow retrieve beast that are from his realm. He is also trying to get back to get revenge on someone. She has the ability to control lesser shadow beasts. Shadow has a group a beast bros who are from different realms. The only one we get the most of is Lin who is Fae. Shadow and Mera have a bet that if she can lose her virginity, he’ll let her go see her friends. She has befriended Angel, a loner in the dining room. Mera accidentally opened a gate into shadow and brought one of the royals thru. Shadow fought with him. At the same time, Death Eaters came for some reason and angel told Mera not to touch them, but in her wolf form, she was able to attack it. Lin takes her to his realm, Shadow comes eventually, they have a spicy night (not all the way) When they get back to the library, Torin and Jackson take her back to the pack against her will. Torin GF is gone, Meras friend is also missing but it’s indicated that she was used as a sacrifice. Shadow shows up at the men-only meeting that Mera jumps down to join him smiling at them."

"Normally I HATE, absolutely HATE it when MCs habe utterly annoying traits. And not being able to shut up and asking lots of question is the worst kind for me. I've dnfed books because of this.<br/>But here? Its fitting, its talked about why the MC is like it and its not 100% accepted as a "awww cute character trait".<br/><br/>The dialogs are just plain amazing."
