'A sparky, bright, hilarious road-trip rom com' BETH O'LEARY, AUTHOR OF THE FLATSHARE 'Full of humour and heart' TAYLOR JENKINS REID, AUTHOR OF DAISY JONES & THE SIX Two love stories decades apart. One chance to prove love is worth the ride. Former childhood star and die-hard romantic Millie is bound for Key West from Washington DC, determined to fulfil a promise to her elderly best friend, Mrs Nash, by reuniting her ashes with her long-lost love. And if this grand gesture also reassures a recently heartbroken Millie that love is real, all for the better. When flights are grounded, Millie is forced to catch a ride with Hollis, an also-stranded near-stranger from her ex's grad school. Rising literary star Hollis doesn't believe in forever-loves (or even for-now loves). He was headed to Miami for a no-strings-attached hook-up, in the hope of curing his writer's block. But as Millie and Hollis make their way across country, racing down open highways and staying in questionable hotels, will their trip turn into a love story all their own? A joyous road trip romcom, perfect for fans of Lucy Score, Rachel Lynn Solomon and Ali Hazelwood. "I love quirky characters that pull you in to a story immediately. This book tugs on your heart strings, while keeping a smile on your face. While it comes off as lighthearted and funny, it carries some deeply felt emotions as well. It is so much fun finding new authors to read and getting to recommend them to others. Enjoy this sweet love story. "
"This book checks so many of the boxes I look for in a book, it’s kind of bananas. We have: forced proximity (road-trip), grumpy/sunshine, strong character growth (on the level of an Emily Henry book), an lovely use of language/prose, the frame of a queer f/f historical love story around the contemporary cis-het romance, the right balance of humor and heartbreak, and wide open doors for all the chili peppers. No fade to black here! I’ve been reccing this book all over the place because it deserves it. "
"Hysterical!! Millie moved in with her apartment neighbor, Mrs. Nash after breaking up with her boyfriend. When Mrs. Nash dies, Millie is convinced that she has to give some of her ashes to her former lover from her station during WWII. Millie must get from DC to Key West asap as Mrs. Nash’s lover is in hospice care. Well, all flights get cancelled and Millie is “saved” by Hollis, a frien-enemy of her ex-boyfriend who agrees to drive her to Florida, his end destination. Hollis and Millie’s back and forth conversation is so funny while driving and so many things go wrong in their road trip. Hollis loves Millie but doesn’t believe in happily ever after. Millie is falling for Hollis, but covers up her feelings. After a car breakdown and staying in a small town where Millie is the grand marshal for a broccoli festival, they make it to Key West, but the lover passed away. Millie spreads Mrs. Nash’s ashes on the beach where she connected with her lover while working in Key West. Their story gives Hollis hope and he and Millie are able to have a relationship! "
