From Alex Finlay, the author of Every Last Fear and The Night Shift, comes an action-packed new thriller about the lives we leave behind and the secrets we carry with us forever...The foster children of Savior House never knew the peace of a normal childhood. Raised in an institution, a group of four friends from the home have now grown and gone their separate ways. They haven't seen one another since they left those abusive foster-home halls, until, twenty-five years later, they are reunited for a single, inescapable reason: someone is trying to kill them.To save their lives, the group will have to revisit the nightmares of their childhoods and confront their past: a past that holds the key to everything.Reviewers on Alex Finlay:'Alex Finlay is the real deal, believe me.' "This book had me hooked from the start. A group is being hunted for something they did a long time ago, at a group home. I have really liked both books I read by this author. "

"This (audio)book sucked me in right from the beginning! Loved the premise. Reminded me of The Chemist a bit. I got a little confused around the climax/end but maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention while listening. The multiple narrators were super helpful in distinguishing the characters. I really liked it! "
"The first third of this book, had me hooked on the stories as it was being told through multiple POVs. At that point, I didn’t know how they were connected nor where it was going to go.

There was one storyline that I preferred more than the others and I wished it would have been given precedence.

The bulk of the middle section (part 2) was boring to me, and it caused my interest to wane.

The ending Part 3, was the twisted conclusion of why they were brought together in such murderous fashion after 25 years being apart.

All in all, it was a decent read especially if you enjoy multiple POVs. 3.5 stars"
"I really liked this book. You have all these people who shared a friendship when they were in a group home called Savior House together as children. The friendship grew because of the need to survive and find whatever happiness could be found in such an awful place. We get to follow these people as adults but also get to experience dual timelines so that we can read about their childhoods as well. We get to see their successes and failures and how their time at Savior House affected them. Oh, and we also have the added benefit of trying to figure out who wants every one of them dead while they fight to survive yet again.

This book is definitely worth the read if you want a good thriller with dual perspectives and timelines. I will be looking for more from this author.

Thank you, @netgalley and @macmillan.audio, for allowing me to listen to the audiobook version of this book on exchange for an honest review"
