"If you are looking for a romantic, lighthearted retelling of Cinderella, this is not the book for you. Putting that aside, i think it has a great plot and does a really good job with showing a different perspective to the Cinderella tale. I’m usually not into gothic novels, but surprisingly I enjoyed this novel. Albeit, I will say the ending did fall a little flat for me, and I felt that the last chapter was a bit rushed. Overall, it was an interesting read and I would recommend if you enjoy reading grim fantasy tales.

"I am unsure how to describe this book. It is definitely a dark Cinderella retelling (READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS - I was NOT prepared for it). The writing was good but I didn’t really like any of the characters. The concept seems interesting but I just got confused with all the abrupt twisty turns and the conclusion left me scratching my head. Now I wouldn’t *not* recommend the book to anyone who likes this genre, but I am also not putting this on a reread list. Just a personal preference as I think the author did a great job on a debut book!! "
