"This was probably my favorite of the 3 in the series so far. Good world building and funny comradery. Highly enjoyed the new characters. Still though no backstories to be seen, so hard to relate to anyone. Still I laughed at all their antics. Again I felt like I've read these characters before they just in a different skin. Too many Acotar similarities for me especially with the *clears throat* inner circle.<br/><br/>Also I'm still struggling with Auren's lazy attitude but she is trying even though she's slow as molasses so I'll give her a C+ for effort. And I'll still keep complaining about this until I have finished the seires but the Long-winded and often repeated inner thoughts have got to be cut in half. Honestly you can skip over so much of Auren's ramblings and not miss a thing.<br/><br/>The author starts throwing in more points of views here and at first I was a little aggravated at the Queen's but I started to enjoy it later on. There were also some very obvious plot twist here that I new from book 1 so a little disappointing. Again this book as some unique qualities but they are being covered up by the shallow character analysis and character ramblings."

"Ok, this one is better than the last, although I predicted everything that was going to happen before it did (the major storyline parts). It just all seemed so obvious to me. Was the author trying to do that intentionally or is it just me being really perceptive? I prefer not being able to guess what’s gonna happen. Yet, I keep reading because I want to know if it actually happens as I predict. The story has gotten a bit more intriguing so I rate it a 3.5. "

"3.5 stars - Glint was definitely a lot easier and more fun to read than Gild. I found myself liking Auren at times which was a stark contrast to Gild. However, she still angered me multiple times while reading. It was depressing to see her unwilling to believe anything bad about Midas. I wish we could have also seen her friendship with Lu, Osrik, and the other guy whose name I’m forgetting develop more. I think Auren’s time with the fourth army could have used some extra development. It was my favorite part of the book and I felt not everything was thoroughly explored. The ending shocked me and was a fun twist!"

Glint made up for what the first book was lacking - we get to see more of Auren developing her character and learn more about her backstory and the world. Absolutely amazing, I devoured this book in almost a day!
If you read Gild and felt like you needed more as far as the plot and writing, then please try the second book and see how you feel.
Expect fruitful action, plot thickening, and a chef’s kiss menu of characters that add their own spice to the mixture. Keg would be proud of the story Raven Kennedy cooked up! Immensely excited for the next one!"

"If you are looking for spice like me, you'll have to keep reading to book 3. The slow build for romance continues in this book, and it's much more satisfying than Gild. The hints draw you in and leave traces that you know will come back later. The character building and unravelling are the centre stage here, and it was worth the read ! Endure book 1 if you must, I'd read a synopsis and start at Glint if I were to do it again, but this is where the series really starts to get good."
