Princess. Prisoner. Runaway. Queen.Elowen Atarah, Princess of Imirath, came into the world like a firestorm made flesh. A princess with a link to five dragons should have been a blessing to her kingdom, but her blessing became her curse. The little girl in shackles became a knife wielding woman with a thirst for retaliation. Now, Queen of Aestilian, a secret kingdom she forged through strength and survival, Elowen needs a way to feed her rising population. She never thought she would have the force to take on Imirath, but when the snarky Commander Cayden Veles of Vareveth, her father's enemy kingdom, offers her a deal she's been dreaming of for years, how can she not take it? Even if he ignites her temper like no other, nothing unites two begrudging allies more than a common enemy. The pair of them, along with three accomplices, will navigate their partnership, politics, and attempt to pull off the greatest heist their world has ever known. Five people, all united through revenge, will have to transcend the odds stacked against them and infiltrate "The Impenetrable Castle" if they want to reap their rewards before someone reaps their souls. Putting aside their differences to accomplish a common goal because everyone knows...vengeance is a promise signed in blood.

"I loved this book so much! It was sooo good! The romance was top tier, the main characters and the side characters were all so lovable, and the plot was fun and fast paced! Elowen and Cayden were both absolutely incredible! They're both super morally grey and pretty intense, especially Cayden, but they were so great together! They had so much chemistry, there was tons of banter and tension, plus there was lots of fluff and a decent bit of spice! Enemies to reluctant allies to lovers, forced proximity, forbidden romance, found family, knife to throat, touch her/him and die, and spicy! 10/10 would recommend!"
"This story follows a princess in hiding who teams up with her enemy, the commander of a neighboring kingdom. Together, they plot an adventure to free her dragons that are locked up in her kingdom that she has fled.
This book has many tropes including enemies to lovers, dragons, lost princess, touch her and die and found family! Olivia Rose Darling took all of the tropes I hold dear to my heart and put them together in a story I could not put down!
While I really enjoyed the story line and the character (Cayden 🤤), it felt a little one dimensional so that’s why it was down graded to a 4 star. I’m not sure if I was missing the emotion from a first person point of view or maybe some side character depth but it needed just a little bit more.
I hope in the next one we get some more story behind some of the other character and maybe some more back story! This was an easy read and for people who aren’t a fan of large amounts of world building, this is for you!"
"Dragon lady princess strikes a deal with a brutal commander to reclaim the dragons her father ripped her away from because of a prophecy. This book definitely had its fun moments of witty banter, spice and dragons and at the same time I felt some quotes had been recycled, sometimes I felt disconnected to what was going on and I was yearning for more dragon time. It was entertaining enough for me to continue the series when released. "
"If you watched or read GoT, you will not be able to ignore the obvious sampling occurring throughout the book. It's plain as day.The story follows Elowan, daughter of King Garrick of Imirath. She has been on the run from assassins hired by Garrick for 15 years trying to get allies to help her take down Garrick & free her dragons. She entered into an agreement with Cayden, the Commander of Vareveth. (touch her & you die) I enjoyed the banter between the all of the characters as they traveled, it was honestly very entertaining. But every GoT reference had me rolling my eyes.
SPOILERS AHEAD!
