"Actual: 3.5 stars ✨

I liked this one to begin with, but the initial premise of the book kind of fell to the wayside in order for there to be this somewhat random mystery/espionage plot line with a submarine and Napoleon in exile. Instead of the espionage submarine plot, we should have had more of Georgiana and Benedict fake “dating” even though they are married through the London Season, so that she could protect her and her sister’s reputation. By that not being the main focus of the book, there just wasn’t enough time to develop the relationship between the two characters and I ended being massively disappointed.

I am going to continue reading this author’s future works because the quality of writing was there, just the plot didn’t do to for me this time unfortunately.
"
