Laura Thalassa
From bestselling indie author and TikTok favorite Laura Thalassa comes a witch fantasy set in the world of the Bargainer series. At age twenty, Selene Bowers desperately hopes to be accepted into Henbane Coven, an academy for young witches. Since one of the requirements for entry is to connect with her powers via a quest through the wilderness, Selene books a trip to South America. When a nefarious supernatural force tries to drag her plane from the sky, Selene's magic awakens to save her life--at a cost. Using her powers devours her memories, one by one. Worse, when Selene braves the jungle and discovers the source of the attack, she finds herself awakening an ancient evil, Memnon the Cursed, who mistakes Selene for his long-dead wife. The wife who betrayed him. Selene manages to escape and begin her studies at Henbane, but when Memnon turns up at the coven and witches are found dead across campus, Selene becomes entangled in a dangerous plot. Accused of the murders on the basis of her memory loss, Selene must rely on Memnon's help for answers--and his plans for her will change everything.

"By far soooo good! I literally read it in 2 days, I accidentally bought book 2 and was so confused then realized there was a first book so picked it up and COULD NOT put it down, from the adventures that you want to join on to the love interest she fights, UGH!!! I couldnât get enough! Ready at start book 2!!! "
"I loved this book. Enemies to lovers and then enemies to lovers again. Itâs definitely a tease! **** doesnât happen until towards the end but there are moment! Which are the tease! However, the plot is worth it and had me intrigued the whole time. A couple moments of being on the edge of my seat as well. "

"3.8 stars
This wasnât a bad book, just an incredibly frustrating one. The whole time I was thinking why the hell did Selene wake him up? If Memnon is claiming to have such a great love with her past self, why would Selene/Roxilana have put such a curse on him to begin with? And the ending proved myself correct, while also upsetting me even more. How I feel about the rest of the book series will depend on if Selene forgives Memnon for being a terrible, toxic person.
I donât usually love mate bonds because I feel like itâs an excuse to forgive/explain away ****** behaviour, or compensate for a shallow relationship where the MCs hardly know each other. Part of me feels that this is the case here too, as for all intents and purposes Selene should hate Memnon, but the soul mate bond makes her weak to him and softer than she should be, which is incredibly frustrating as a reader. Alas, Iâll be reading the next one in hopes of Memnon getting what he deserves, though I wonât hold my breath."
