"Interesting story, one of the only ones I remember they made us read in school. "

"I absolutely loved this book! It filled me with a combination of rage and anxiety in one moment but then deep amusement and affection the next. Every character was so well developed and the plot so unique, I didn't even care when they took what felt like 10 pages near the end to describe how tangerines are produced. This book really took me on an unexpected journey but I loved every minute of it!"

"Beautiful reflection on relationships, truth, nature, family, and personal experiences. Stereotypical portrayal of the Latino/Latine community, and the centering of whiteness as a “default”, but earnest and honest commentary concerning inner thoughts, bias, and personal development. This book, and Paul, will stick with me forever. I’m happy I read it as a twenty-six year old for the first time."
