NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “A superior crime novel.”—The Washington PostWATCH WILL TRENT ON ABCAnsley Park is one of Atlanta’s most upscale neighborhoods—but in one gleaming mansion, in a teenager’s lavish bedroom, a girl has been savagely murdered. And in the hallway, her mother stands amid shattered glass, having killed her daughter’s attacker with her bare hands. Detective Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is one of the first on the scene. Trent soon sees something that the Atlanta cops are missing, something in the trail of blood, in a matrix of forensic evidence, and in the eyes of the stunned mother. When another teenage girl goes missing, Trent knows that this case, which started in the best of homes, is about to cut quick and deep through the ruins of perfect lives broken wide-open: where human demons emerge with a vengeance.

"Catching up on some of the older Karin Slaughter books. Enjoyed this one as it was the first time Will and Faith worked together. "

"Not a great book, but not horrible. I think there was a lot of potential with the story, and it was spent on the drama aspect instead of the thriller aspect. This is more like a contemporary novel with a few thriller aspects. I just hoped for more out of it."

"<strong>nice little novella to start the series</strong><br/><br/>This was a great little start to the series featuring Rachel Hatch. I enjoyed the writing style which put me in the scenes and the establishments of the characters"

"Started reading the Will Trent series and I’m loving each one more than the last. These are in depth psychological thrillers that can be pretty graphic but she writes characters so well you can’t stop reading. Really recommend! "

"This is by far my favorite novel series. Will Trent is an engaging and sympathetic protagonist. His struggle with dyslexia and childhood trauma add interest and depth to the storyline of the series. They also highlight his investigative abilities in spite of and because of his unique perspective."

"Great book! Full of suspends the whole way through. Definatly great twists. I never expected the people involved to be involved. It was lil I was one of the detectives finding everything out with them! I think I have found a new favorite author. Watch out James Patterson."
