"This is an intriguing limited drama series created by Jason Segel and inspired by the documentary The Institute. The series revolves around four ordinary people who stumble upon a mysterious puzzle hidden in plain sight, leading them on a journey of self discovery. Peter is struggling to find the meaning of life, Fredwynn is an intelligent paranoid man, Simone is seeking to escape feelings of isolation as a trans woman and Janice is trying to figure out what her identity is.
Including a strong cast ensemble: Jason Segel, Sally Field, Andre 3000 and Eve Lindley. It follows the interconnected lives of these characters as they navigate the mysterious world of the Jejune Institute. With its unique blend of whimsy and wonder, it is an immersive alternate reality game that encourages the players to participate in solving a mystery by gathering real life clues and puzzles.
While some episodes are stronger than others, this is a viewer experience unlike anything I’ve seen before. Set in the colorful city of Philadelphia, this series incorporates many game elements that were featured in the original documentary. It’s a deep look into finding yourself and human connection. I laughed and cried. I was at times confused but amazed. It definitely leaves a lasting impression if you are open minded enough to receive the message.
The finale episode was a let down. It had a strange twist that you’ll never see coming. Maybe others will appreciate it more than I did. Without giving it away, I just think it deserved a much better ending. But that doesn’t take away the magical insightful experience that it was, for me anyways. 9/10"
"I really enjoyed 90% of this series, but the ending feels very self-indulgent."

"My thumbs up is just for first nine episodes. The finale was the single biggest disappointment in my entire TV watching history. It ruined the series for me."
