"I want to start off this little review by saying this show contains a lot of Japanese pro wrestling deep cuts and people who may not be familiar with Japanese pro wrestling could be a little lost when watching this. As for me, I thought that this was an excellent way to go about an origin story for an absolute legend like Dump. Who is semi-retired but makes special appearances even with her being 63 years old at present it's still an absolute spectacle. I wanted to give a little bit of Japanese pro wrestling history and how the sport is interpreted over in the Land of the Rising sun. Japanese pro wrestling is commonly more hard-hitting and seen as a legitimate contest over the usual soap opera that you get in the states. Winners and losers are still predetermined, yeah. But it actually means something in Japan there's something called the Bushido code which means the way of the warrior and fighting spirit win or lose if the public see your fighting spirit and your heart and willingness to keep going even when up against impossible odds. You will be cherished and admired by them. I think this does a great job of displaying the culture and attitudes of Joshi pro wrestling ( joshi means women's wrestling) in the late '70s and early '80s this attitude was even continued on through the mid-90s until people finally realized how toxic it was for the women involved. This show also has a fair amount of blood, which I love. But the blood is used to further the storytelling in the ring and not just for additional theatrics. Anyway if you like Japanese pro wrestling or would like to learn more about one of the women who introduced a more hardcore Smash Mouth style of it to the admittedly is super conservative crowds in Japan at the time I really recommend this show. I forgot to add that it's only five episodes, so it's a quick watch. Within those five episodes, though, they pack a lot in terms of story and action in the ring."
