"I do enjoy watching band bios, even if I'm not so much into a band. I like hearing their various stories/experiences. I'll admit this particular band has never been a stand-out favorite of mine, yet I still wanted to see it and I liked this series fine in general regardless of that. The main focus seemed to be more on Bon Jovi's vocal cord issues and if he can tour again as well as the various issues surrounding his lead guitarist, Richie Sambora. I liked to hear how Bon Jovi got his start in the biz and how he stuck with it, the steps taken along the way, etc. He seemed persistent and hard-working, and not into the drug scene, which I'm sure had a lot to do with his success over other bands that may have more issues because of this. Sure, things have not always gone smoothly and mistakes were made, just like for anyone. He mentioned about growing up in Jersey and during the Kennedy era having something to do with his strong work ethic... I already knew a lot of these stories mentioned from the doc, yet I have no doubt a lot has been omitted. I thought more may have been revealed. There was not too much about his wife/kids (minimal, general, and vague). I never saw them in concert, but I'll just bet they put on a great show. I did think this doc was much too long and dragged out a bit. I felt it could have been better summed up in perhaps 2 rather than 5 hours, or included more band performance footage in place of the lag time. Just one example: I noticed a number of shots were of the camera focusing on Bon Jovi not doing/saying anything (perhaps reflecting) for longer periods of time, so... I didn't get anything out of that so much--this is just an example of what, to me, could have been edited out. I imagine the die-hard Bon Jovi fans may not mind the length of this series as I did. I'm not sorry I watched this, but I was not "wowed" overall."
"So far, very interesting! If you love 80βs hair bands, this is a pretty good doc on one of (if not THE) biggest hair bands in the world. Jon Bon Jovi was really talented as a young man! Wowβ¦and so glad credit was given where credit was due: MTV who helped so many bands make it to stardom. Thatβs where I first saw them back in β84. Congrats on 40 years, guys!"

"Watched the first 2 episodes of this fascinating and hilarious documentary of the bands rise to fame. So many cool stories about the formation of and the early struggles of the band. Jon Bongovi (his real name before they changed it for the band) was a driven kid who knew what he wanted to achieve. Throughout his life and career and even today his philosophy and work ethic is admirable and one that can/ should be emulated. Although they acknowledge the dark side of Rock βn Roll bands (drugs, booze, girls and partying) they donβt dwell on it or glamorize it. Iβm really enjoying this well done documentary. "
"I loved it and the ending was perfect. Hope to see them again live someday, fingers crossed!"
