Anna attends the Methodist Church, but their strict rules & her father's thumb on everything she & Agnes do creates a longing for freedom. At 21, she inherits her grandmother's estate & is a now a wealthy young woman.

"The entire show is her letting her dad bully her into ruining people's lives across multiple districts. She gains only enough strength at the very end to marry an increasingly creepy dude. So many things were completely unexplained, and yet you never quite care to get the whole explanation because nobody in the show is likeable anyways"
