"I so wanted to love this and I think it had potential but honestly was just kinda all around mediocre. The story didn't really have climaxes. They built up a plot line then it kinda fizzled out or they jumped in time so it being fixed way too fast. The lead couple had potential but once again they didn't give them enough time to build the enemies to lover story before they were devoted to each other. The time line jumps so much that it was hard to keep track of what was going on when. There was going to be an uprising, nope. Squashed that before it could begin. War? We'll just jump to the end. 36 episodes to cover 20+ years of time and even that felt drawn out. Also I'd have liked them to give us some closure to characters that were sacrificed for the greater good. The brother that was sent to the border? Did they ever recall him? Did he and the maid that went with him get together? What about the princess that was married off for a peace treaty? Also silly deaths that made no sense. They jumped forward 11ish years and killed off several side characters. Why? I guess the story needed some deaths? The story has some good points. The Lord was very kind. It was intriguing to see all the chess pieces being played for the Lord's seat. I liked that our female lead stayed smart throughout the series. The "bad" brothers changing their paths so the people didn't suffer was very refreshing. I don't think it was terrible but I wouldn't watch this again."
