"BOTTOM LINE: When there’s lack of evidence, question everything you hear 🤨 That’s basically what the Texas Monthly news reporter who appears throughout this series & who first broke this story about a “Swinger’s Club” or a sex ring operation in a small Texas town east of Dallas tells the viewer.
This whole incredible & deplorable story & legal case was built & based upon hearsay, not evidence. What’s interesting is that almost everyone involved in this scandal — even the ones who may be lying about the truth — are interviewed in this series.
In Part One of this 3-part #truecrime docu-series, you’ll WANT to believe everything you’re hearing, but then you listen to opposing viewpoints in Part Two and your whole thought process begins to shift, and you begin to question everything, not quite knowing who to believe…
All I know is, there are a lot of twists to this story, and in the end, I absolutely could NOT trust everything I thought I was believing in Part One. Saddest of all, whichever deceitful person(s) is or are responsible for this scandal definitely ruined a lot of people’s lives in the process.
I wonder what your thoughts & others’ takeaways will be regarding this case. ⚖️ "
"Twisted and a bit mind bending. The directing keeps you on your toes for sure. Highlights excellently a flawed system of techniques/tactics often used on minors, the same techniques and systems that made Brendan Dassey admit to a crime that he never committed. Hard not to feel frustrated by the end of this.
Major trigger warning for discussion of CSA."
"Crazy documentary anytime you get into the subject of children and sex it gets very creepy then you add on everyone calling everyone liers, you absolutely never want to accuse a victim of lying, the way this is set up makes you wonder so directing and production did a great job. The "child protection services" can be a joke as well as the broken foster service really needs to be fixed."
