A young woman is sent to a cult-like rehab facility called Sword & Cross to serve time for a crime she can't remember committing. Among the other residents, she encounters the enigmatic Daniel and exasperating but irresistible Cam, all of whom are under the watchful eye of the sinister chief doctor Howson, and devout twin sisters Miriam and Sophia. Luce must untangle the mystery of who she is and why she has a connection to Daniel that goes far back beyond their time in the institution

"Overall I think this is a pretty good series. I liked the concept but as I have not read the books I felt extremely confused a lot of the time like pieces of the story were missing that you would only get from the book. I have seen the movie which is completely different than the series which also confused me. I also prefer the goth theme for this story opposed to the cold realistic one. At the end of the day, I will definitely be watching season 2 when it is released."

"I am on episode 2. They have done a really good job with this. I was a little perturbed at first because the Sword & Cross school is more sterile than gothic and it’s a little more jaily than I pictured. I have read the books so I know where it’s going. This is good. Keep watching. I can’t believe it was never announced that it was being released in the US. I only stream, so maybe they did? I hope they take us through all of the books. "
