"I always wondered about his unique name. At around the 9-minute mark, #Tupac’s mama explains the meaning behind his name & why she chose it… Plus, you get to see his cute baby photo🥰👶🏾 But, to me, he was an absolutely beautiful man (inside as well as out)— but I have to admit I was always drawn to his beautiful eyes & big, beautiful smile. I do believe both he & his mama were geniuses, or at least very smart, & we know he possessed musical brilliance. He is so well-spoken here (at such a young age!!) in this #docuseries
▪️17 year old Tupac Shakur navigates school, poverty & family, while dreaming of using poetry & music to spread the message of his mother, noted Black Panther activist Afeni Shakur. Haunted by her Black Panther past, Afeni fears how it will affect Tupac's promising future.
▪️ and “Dear Mama,” a touching tribute to the #hiphop legend’s mother, went on to become his first Top 10 hit in 1995 ⭐️ #2pac"
"Powerful. Tupac continues to be an incredibly relevant artist is because the public got to see so many dimensions of him, which has allowed him to connect with more people. So many artists end up in one box; Tupac was many things to many people: revolutionary, gangster, gentle soul, poet. And more.
The additional layer of the story of Afeni was…wonderful. Afeni was as complex as her son, and equally as talented.
It’s tragic that the world lost both Tupac and Afeni. "

"I’ve never been big on rap music but I always loved listening to 2pac. This documentary was interesting and gave me a very informative insight on not only how he was raised and where his music came from and his life but his mother and both their struggles. Great watch if you were a fan of his. "
