"Okay, I'm a sucker for kids shows. Especially when they have a good villain and weird animal creatures to go with them.
If you like Pokémon, Kaijudo, Voltron Force, & Huntik: Foundation you'll like this.
First off, this show is an Isekai one where a person is taken from one world to another. Our main character at a track meet one day is suddenly teleported to another world where he is supposed to be a chosen one called the dreamer. Things turn out to be a little more complicated than that & the story progresses in a lovable kid show like way. I enjoy the characters, the animals, & the way they played on the word imagination with the title. I'm a sucker for cleverness in a show & this has that.
As for your kids they will enjoy this. It has action, adventure, cute creatures, a scary villain, a progressing plot, & more. It just has a lot to capture your interest. It can be a bit much at times as all kid shows tend to fall into, but it's still worth a watch.
The 2nd season really made things more interesting & propelled the story in a new way too. It's still fun & enjoyable but you're more invested & the characters end up having more depth.
I am a sucker for a good villain & this one is that. He plays to the characters in many different ways. Whether it's messing with how they see things or just conniving in the background, he does it well. He's not the best villain ever but he does his job well in this show.
Now for the main attraction, the animites (I mightve said that wrong but they're the creatures). They're beyond creative. I enjoy seeing their powers & designs. They don't resemble anything else, especially when this show came out. It's kind of shocking how unique they were for the time.
As for the other side characters I enjoy them. I like the way the relationships progress & the characters do too. It's not just the main character you fall for.
I do recommend you at least stick with it until episode 5, after that you can stop if you don't like it."
