"Expected a milquetoast critic on European dominated spaces and Africans that navigate through those spaces similar to Dear White People. Felt some of that during the movie but it was more drug filled and hallucinatory which made it a better watch. A few scenes felt unnecessary and other plot points aren’t built up especially when they’re juxtaposed with how detached high art is with low society/pop art. How you gonna have a rant from a working class African about the racism in his workplace but the prog didn’t experience anything like that because she’s in an isolated environment like art school? Definitely more boogie than pop(ular) on the Boogiepop scale. "
