The Five Devils

"Beasts Of The Southern Wild vibes, with a little bit of Us mixed in. It's as though the story had an identity crisis; mystery or drama? Five Devils would have played out much better as a limited series, providing more time for multiple slow-burns. As it stands, introducing so many competing concepts into an hour and a half made for a choppy story that had a lot to say, but a short amount of time to explain in much-needed detail. Adéle's acting is top-notch, as per usual. 2.8 stars."
