"Most times, I like to give these shark movies more stars than they deserve because of the beautiful islands that they are filmed on. This movie by Studio Canal is filmed primarily in The Dominican Republic. The scenery is strikingly beautiful, and the azure water is absolutely gorgeous. This derivative plot involves an all female cast. The women get together for one last trip before one of them is due to marry. One hosts all the others in an exotic location, and of course, tragedy follows them, leaving the cast to fight for their lives. There are events in the movie that are not explained clearly, but are used as a plot device to move the story along. So there you have it. You can decide if you would like to go along for the ride...in shark π¦ infested waters!!! π₯Ίπ"
"Hmmm, just what do you think that "something in the water" could possibly be??? Although not a top-tier movie, this kept my interest enough to watch until the end to see how it all played out... It was a really beautiful location... The girls were a bit on the annoying side, so I wasn't feeling entirely too bad of their situation... Sure these girls made poor choices, however if not for their poor choices the movie would be dull."
"The production value of this must have all gone into the shooting location, not the CGI or the actors. The plot is paper thin, which I wouldn't usually hold against a shark movie, except the movie was really boring. If there's anything a cheesy shark movie shouldn't be, it's boring. The idea of being in the open ocean with a shark is scary, obviously, but somehow the movie made it annoying and exhausting. This movie isn't funny enough to be entertaining or cheesy, and isn't scary enough to be taken seriously. The characters make dumb decisions, you won't root for them to stay alive, and the plot is completely wasted. Overall, I'm disappointed they didn't just stay on land and make a better movie."
"A group a friends attending a wedding in a tropical area decide to rent a boat and go to a secluded island. An emergency happens and they end up trapped in shark infested waters. There was actually some decent character development for 2 of the characters that happend to be a lesbian couple. They broke up and had beef and they show us why. However the the other characters are just there and don't really add much to things. The first act was solid but things get off track once the emergency happens. They spent alot of time arguing and floating in the water which is boring to watch as a viewer. It started out realistic enough then gets ridiculous. A novice swimmer is not going 2 miles in the choppy ocean and no one is out swimming a shark. It's too bad cause this did have some potential. As is you can skip it.
