"Very good movie directed by and starring Mélanie Laurent about the treatment of women in a mental hospital in 1885. The movie is based on a book, and the story is based on a real hospital (that still exists today), and a real doctor. Knowing that it actually depicts real treatments that women were subjected to makes this movie a difficult watch, but an important one. Although the subject matter is quite difficult, it is treated in a well balanced tone that does not feel melodramatic."
