During a power outage, two strangers tell scary stories. The more Fred and Fanny commit to their tales, the more the stories come to life in the dark of a Catskills cabin. The horrors of reality manifest when Fred confronts his ultimate fear: Fanny is the better storyteller.

" This is better than the rating hints. It does grow on you after. While watching you are waiting for it to go somewhere.
Though you need to watch Fred’s expressions throughout and listen to him closely too. Especially when he is talking about his ex wife.
I do admit I waited for the stories to come real which I thought the movies was about. There’s a lot of talking and story telling. The performances are so good during the story telling.
That they can give you the Horror aspect. Though Scare Me is more of a Comedy/Thriller."
"Really liked it even though the end is a bit of a let down. Love Aya Cash, who is once again awesome in this! Feels like it could easily translate to the stage as well. Was impressed with how well acted it was and the story telling is fun. Labeled as a horror film which is understandable in retrospect, but it feels more along the comedy classification. Really unique and different. Nice change from the typical seasonal, Halloween movie to watch!"
"A couple of months ago I didn’t even know who Josh Ruben was but both of his movies are some of the most fun that I’ve watched in 2024. As incredible of a filmmaker as he is he’s also an outstanding actor and that’s on full display in Scare Me which I believe has four characters in total for the movie. This very much feels like a play except that when the characters start telling their stories you become full immersed in their stories in a way you likely wouldn’t get in a theatre production. The sound design, editing, writing and direction is all extremely strong and I thoroughly enjoyed watching this one during a winter storm with the lights off. Props to Ruben for being a unique voice and making something truly original. "
