A young man, Ryan, suffering from a disability, wishes to join the other kids from his schools football team. During an initiation rite, Ryan is swept away through a whirlpool to the land of Tao. There he is hunted by the evil Lord Komodo, who desires the boy as a key to enter the real world. Ryan is rescued by the protectors of Tao, five humanoid kangaroos, each embued with the five elements and virtues. Ryan learns his valuable lesson while saving the land of Tao.

"I use to love this movie as a kid. Just rewatched it and there isn’t much to it. The sets are really cool and I’m amazed that people can do Kung fu while wearing kangaroo outfits. Other than that, not so much. A lot of the movie doesn’t make sense and the bad guy is so annoying. It always makes me laugh thinking about the actors acting the way they do on set. Like I was watching once upon a time recently and the queen was pulled into the well or something and she’s all shaking uncontrollably. It was just hilarious. I don’t know how people on set don’t crack up laughing. "
