"maybe i just didn’t get it? the acting was clerks level (i hate clerks), tamara was an awful friend, the dialogue had an odd pace, it felt like scenes ended before they even started, the fades to black drove me insane. I DUNNO!!!! it was nice to see some cool lesbians. i just wish the filmmaking style was better and the characters had more going on. "
"I've heard this movie is more remembered for the sex scene which is wild because it's a movie about how queer identities have been systematically erased, particularly when compounded with other marginalized identities so queer people have to construct their own idols. I'm not going to say this is one of my all time favorite films, I have my issues with it but I think it's got a lot to say and is an interesting largely forgotten LGBTQ+ movie of the 90s."
