"This is a fun adventure/martial arts movie starring Michelle Yeoh. The first half of the movie is very Indiana Jones-esque with a similar tone, the WWII setting and Yeoh even wielding a bullwhip in a leather jacket in a few scenes. They do a really good job of mixing martial arts with more classical Hollywood action sequences to give the movie it’s own feel. The second half of the movie, which focuses on the town trying to fight off the Japanese army, is less successful but the movie is still well worth the watch. 7.5/10."
