5 Against the House

"This was a good movie, albeit short, with a good cast. I am only rating it three stars because it started slow. The last act is the best; it builds up to a dramatic finish, and adds anxiety to the dialogue. The movie stars Kim Novak, Brian Keith and Kerwin Matthews, who later played the lead in the movies "Jack the Giant Killer" and "The 7th voyage of Sinbad". The plot revolves around college students that decide to go to a gambling club in Reno to see if they can beat the house. Kim Novak, the only female actor in this movie, plays a nightclub singer and the male actors round out the cast. Overall, the storyline has drama, and a bit of comedy and romance, which held my attention."
