"The Show starring Josh Duhamel is a bleak and unsettling film that explores the dark side of reality TV. It's about this TV show where contestants are literally killing themselves on live TV for ratings and money. It’s a pretty grim movie.
I'm still not sure how I feel about it. The movie's slow burning and depressing, which feels fitting for the subject matter. The cast is talented, with several recognizable faces, and Josh Duhamel's performance is solid. To be honest, I found it pretty boring at times, and the whole experience was just really bleak and sad. The portrayal of people ending their lives on national TV is haunting. It’s a commentary to how desensitized society has become to watching violence, death and the demise of others as entertainment.
It’s not an easy watch, and I wouldn't say it's particularly enjoyable. If you're in the mood for something heavy, this might be worth checking out. 6/10"
"Portrays a powerful message on how we consume so much violence and forget that there are lives behind them sometimes. Us humans have always desired to watch things like this, think of hangings, beheading, etc. I like how it brings to light the fact that these are people- they deserve to be seen as something other than entertainment.
I will say the beginning is painfully slow and confusing, but once it got going it began to make sense, was enticing, and the end message was moving to me, a horror and a (not real) gore enthusiast."
