"There is a really good 90 minute caper film here, with Jean-Paul Belmondo’s charming jewel thief matching wits with Omar Sharif’s corrupt detective. They have an entertaining rapport, there is a fantastic car case (which really showcases Greece as a setting), a fun Morricone score and some standout stunt work (mostly done by Belmondo himself). Unfortunately, the movie is over 2 hours long and the extra filler absolutely kills the momentum of the film at several points. It’s still a solid watch but it could’ve really been something special with a better edit.
