"I want to start by making one thing completely clear: this movie is NOT a tender Christian romance. This movie reads like the manifesto of Elliot Rodger! The movie starts with our main “romantic” lead waving the biggest red flag by saying he won’t be alone in a room with a woman (which is already creepy and disgusting enough) but also seems to think that the concept of dating is no different than a one-night stand. This movie isn’t charming, it’s not romantic, it’s creepy, disgusting, and unwatchable. This is like if 50 First Dates was written and directed by a serial killer, and I can honestly say that I’ve seen THRILLERS that had better romances than this. Say what you want about 50 Shades—at least Christian Grey was charming! I can at least understand why Anastasia would find him sexy and his whole view captivating and alluring; Amber (the girl in this movie) finds a guy who seems like he’d be his own episode of Criminal Minds, willingly falls into his creepy, possessive snare and I can’t imagine why! He’s not charming, he’s not likable, he’s not even attractive—he’s a petulant, sexist, egotistical douchebag. When Natural Born Killers is a better romance than you, then stop making movies. "
