"There is something about Dario Argento's work that I just don't vibe with. The pacing is off, the editing is bad and the characters are either too robotic or to erratic to feel any sort of connection to and the narratives always seem half baked. This movie was ungodly slow that I found myself looking at my phone instead, I will say liked the first half of this movie and thought it was intriguing but it just went on and on with no real end or point in sight. The occasional language switch with no subtitles and characters not finishing sentences or simply talking over on another didn't help it's case either although it could be a little funny. His movies are just not for me."
"not as good as suspiria (honestly what is?) but there is some interesting abject imagery and argento's compositions. Jennifer Connelly recites her lines dutifully and without much enthusiasm, but her character wriggles and splashes her way out of danger in interesting ways, so i was still entertained.
as much as i enjoyed the disabled entomologist, his scenes were something of a slog and made me put aside the movie for a while before i summoned the will to finish it. the last half hour is the most interesting part of the whole movie, even if i don't give a fig who the murderer is."
"I really liked the aesthetic of this film. It does get rather boring the further in you go, but I still enjoyed it. The plot is quite unique; a girl using her abilities to communicate with insects to track down a killer. Definitely an interesting idea. The ending is a bit silly but it overall the film is quite charming. "
"One of my favorite Argento. "
