Deaf-mute Sergey enters a specialized boarding school for the deaf-and-dumb. In navigating through the school's hierarchy, he encounters a corrupt underbelly of criminality, known as The Tribe. By participating in several robberies, he gets propelled higher into the organization, when he meets one of the Chiefโs concubines Anya, and unwittingly breaks all the unwritten rules of the group.

"Definitely one of the most interesting and disturbing films i think Iโve watched this year. I now have a whole different outlook on the deaf community. The whole film is in sign language with no translation,no subtitles, and no voice-overs. Even without any of that it still has a major effect on you while watching. You would never think such a film could be this disturbing but it definitely is. Never seen anything like this. The only thing you hear is squeaky shoes and grunts of anger in this Ukrainian film."
