"I enjoyed this. What I didn’t enjoy was Christina’s being a narrator. That only makes me not like this movie as much.
Also made me realize really never hated Adam Sandler. Just don’t like the types of movies he is in.
Lots of scenes and dialogue just felt random though. Not necessarily a bad thing but they just feel like randomly added. Which honestly is sort of realistic in a way. Mainly just felt weird though.
Didn’t care at all for the music choices in scenes.
Honestly the main draw is the family. Everyone in the family has their own issues. Which was very interesting to see. The son not so much well he also is barely on screen.
It’s a simple movie with a lot of things to think about. Can’t really review well right now very tired. But I’m really glad I chose to watch this. Gonna try to look for more flawed movies. Finding them more entertaining or maybe just drawn to them suddenly.
It’s definitely not perfect but enjoyed what I got.
The comedy felt very light didn’t make me laugh much but made me feel a little better.
Honestly loved it’s a 4 for me. Without the narrator it would be a 4 movie for me. But that and other things makes it a 3 as a movie.
I liked the immigrant family story. Plus enjoyed the dialogue."
"I agree with others that it definitely had more potential and is obviously from the perspective of a white person ..BUT...it's one of the few movies i can stand Adam Sandler in .and when I'm watching comedies like this I really try not to think about how stupid they are ...or I'd dislike all of them 😂"
"It’s a very cute movie with some harsh realities. I loved the complicated relationships and the interesting characters. Nothing about this movie was cookie cutter. My only complaint, however, was that it was wrongfully advertised as a comedy. This belongs underneath the drama genre."
"Adam Sandler NOT yelling his way through a script. A very emotionally moving movie"
