The Returned

"Rewatching this one for probably the 100th time. Everyone who loves horror has their favorite "monster" and mine is zombies, I consider myself somewhat as an amateur expert in zombie cinema. Especially considering I will watch even the really bad zombie movies because it's easy to miss a gem. This is one of those gems that not enough people in the horror community talk about. The acting is great with faces you will recognize, and it does have a fresh take on the genre, at least it was a fresh take when it came out, however many saw how good it was and have attempted to replicate but have only ended up subpar aside from The Cured. These characters are so complex and complicated but in the best way, and then having to deal with a zombie virus outbreak on top of their messy lives and relationship. If you're a TWD fan, loved the character building in the early seasons, this is the movie for you. "
