"Just watched this classic from 1960. I read the book a while back. It's actually fairly accurate as an adaptation, and was likely an inspiration for Planet of the Apes. This old science fiction has every favorite fx technique of mine: miniatures, time lapse photography, elaborate sets, cheesy costumes, animation, matte paintings, the works. It's so practical it would buy a used Toyota Camry. Cannot recommend it enough, especially for fans of the book. Picked me up after a rough day."
