"I'm not the biggest fan of war films, but this one is my favorite! I loved how grounded this film was. It honestly felt like I was watching a documentary about the effects of French Imperialism on the oppressed party. The cinematography was superb, a nice mix of handheld shots and beautiful bird's eye view shots displaying the ills of fighting a war in your home front. The score was also solid. It's a 2 hour film that has me entertained for its entirety. I can also see the impact this film had on many war dramas that we've all come to love. Even after nearly 60 years, Battle of Algiers still holds up to a godly standard in filmmaking. "
