"It wasn't what I expected. I thought it would be like classic Dracula and Frankenstein. It's more about the music. I was mildly surprised about the whole story that seemed less horror and more thwarted artist. Claude Rains is very very good at terrifying me. I kept looking in the back seat of my car for ages since seeing his performance in the Invisible Man. And his performance of as the Wolf Man was wonderful and terrible in that it still scared me. I liked this movie and will still keep it with my classic horror DVDs. But my favorite Phantom of the Opera versions are the one with Lon Chaney (terrifying ) and Gerard Butler (Not terrifying but beautiful in the musical brought to the screen)."
