"This 96-minute thing is a cinematic mess. Adrian Paul returns as the Highlander, Duncan McLeod. This time, he and his immortal posse, a watcher, and his estranged wife are searching for a powerful artifact which offers mortality, giving one fortunate immortal a new lease on life, so to speak. The plot meanders, and the over-the-top villain and his angry agenda don't make sense. In a small way, I understand what the director was trying to do by changing the tone of this sequel. He wanted to give a deeper background and meaning to the "there can be only one" mythos. But it fails miserably. The only thing that kept me watching was trying to figure which bands did the musical sequences that could rival a good 1980's Miami Vice episode. Oh well. "
