"An accurate adaptation of the book. If you'd like to watch it without having read the book, just know that it's very sad but nonetheless profound. The direction of the strawberry scene in this seems the most realistic when compared to that of the 1979 (it's director was controversial) and 2008 versions, which are much more male-gazey. In this version, Tess' discomfort with the situation is more obvious. "
