"4⭐️ Yay a mature romance! Great seeing Harry Connick Jr. again too (loved him in Hope Floats)! This was a quirky and darkly funny fish out of water tale at first before heading down a familiar path. Totally fine though! There’s still some real life issues grounded in family, food (that one foodporn scene .. had me salivating😋), music (meh..sorry Harry) and Cyprian culture (traditional songs kinda making up for the lackluster originals). Of course absolutely gorgeous to look at and no villains (except the MC’s getting in their own way and taking a few others with them) make this a worthy low stakes summer comfort watch. Though the way it started out I would’ve liked to have seen a more theatrical or indie treatment a la Shirley Valentine or Under the Tuscan Sun if that makes sense. There was more potential there than what was ultimately seen on screen. Still though .. very lovely and likable! "

"The least I do before watching something is take a quick look at the RT score. I admit, it does drive me away sometimes. But it’s me, come on, like I’m not gonna watch a new romcom? I really do understand why some don’t like them. But I love them. And this is a fantastic one. An older cast than usual, which is nice. Funny. Think I teared up three times. The music was a surprising bonus. Like a drug to us romcom junkies. "
