"A phenomenal film. Captivating throughout, especially with the way it uses the vampire movie tropes as an allegory for the Black experience in America. Phenomenal production values, sound design and especially cinematography. This is accompanied by phenomenal performances across the board (from Michael B Jordan (as twins) to Hailee Steinfeld, from Delroy Lindo to Miles Caton among others). This is a film that deserves to be widely seen among audiences especially in the theatres, and I hope this film is remembered long enough for awards consideration. Very highly recommended."

"Great reenactment of TRUE vampire lore. I loved the powerful performance of englands Jack Oconnel as Remmick. While i liked the juke(to make a false move to decieve) joint music , the standout was the irish folk songs sung by the vampires, lol. Reminded me of Cold Mountain movie. Ryan stated that his inspiration was Dust Till Dawn. I saw no real comparison, imo Dust stands alone. The melting pot element here is fiction, no chinese, whts, or any other races were ever that chummy in the siuth in 1930s. The migration of REAL Upyr from El Magheb in Sahara actually toke place in 1700s lead by St. Jauqes Germain(the real Lestat). They settled in New Orleans & witchcraft, voodoo & vampires toke hold there, true story. I loved the ending, very strong message. 4/5"
"It is a refreshing film that blends film noir, horror, and westerns beautifully. I really enjoyed the super wide aspect ratio and think that every movie should have this aspect ratio. I also loved how music was used as a storytelling device. While the entire cast was amazing, the real standout is Ryan Coogler. The cinematography was too clean. This is easily his most ambitious and creative feature to date. In a world full of giant IP adaptations and remakes, we need more films like Sinners and filmmakers like Ryan Coogler."
"Ryan Coogler’s Sinners is a bold, genre-blending cinematic experience that fuses Southern Gothic, crime thriller, and supernatural horror into a rich tapestry of storytelling. Set in 1932 Mississippi, the film follows twin brothers Smoke and Stack, played masterfully by Michael B. Jordan, as they return home from Chicago with dreams of opening a juke joint. But their ambitions soon collide with a sinister force—vampires—led by the menacing Remmick (Jack O’Connell).
A Story Rooted In Blues And Blood
Coogler’s screenplay is ambitious, weaving themes of race, freedom, and music into a narrative that feels both intimate and epic. The first half of the film is a slow burn, immersing us in the brothers’ world as they recruit musicians, including the young blues prodigy Sammie "Preacher Boy" Moore (Miles Caton), whose talent transcends time and space. The film’s most audacious sequence—a musical performance that connects the blues to rock, funk, and hip-hop—stands out as a breathtaking cinematic moment.
A Visually Stunning Film
From the production design by Hannah Beachler to Ruth E. Carter’s textured costumes, Sinners is visually mesmerizing. Autumn Durald Arkapaw’s cinematography captures the heat and tension of the Mississippi Delta, while Ludwig Göransson’s hypnotic score enhances the film’s eerie, dreamlike quality.
Final Verdict
Sinners is a daring, visually stunning film that takes big swings—and mostly connects. It’s a Southern Gothic crime thriller, a musical, and a vampire horror film all at once. While its ambition sometimes leads to narrative overload, its performances, music, and cinematography make it one of the most memorable films of 2025."
"Best movie I ever saw in my life and that’s no exaggeration! Gives me The Last Black Man in San Francisco and Kendrick Lamar Super-bowl performance vibes because there was so much going on that could be analyzed! Michael B. Jordan this is Oscar worthy sir! Congratulations black excellence at it’s finest! Everyone involved did their thing and should be proud!"
