Red Right Hand

"This B movie was surprisingly good. I'd read more than a few reviews that gave it poor ratings, but I found it to be quite entertaining despite the story being a simple one. Orlando Bloom plays a reformed hillbilly thug named Cash, trying to make something of the family farm, with his brother-in-law and niece, following his sister's death. It was odd seeing an English actor playing this role with a southern accent, he does a good job though. But even more shocking was seeing Andie MacDowell play a merciless crime boss named Big Cat. Not exactly sure how I feel about that but it kept my interest. When Cash is forced back into the service of Big Cat, things get violent and bloody. That's a good thing in my book. The story escalates until Cash has to take matters into his own hands in order to save what's left of his family, leading to a predictable but gratifying climax. 7.5/10"
